Sankata Nashana Ganesha Stotram (śrī saṃkaṭanāśana gaṇeśa stotram)
The auspicious hymn composed by Sage Narada invoking the 12 sacred names of Lord Ganesha to remove all obstacles and adversities.
praṇamya śirasā devaṃ gaurīputraṃ vināyakam | bhaktāvāsaṃ smarennityamāyuṣkāmārthasiddhaye || १ ||
Word-by-Word Meaning (English):Bowing one's head in deep reverence to Lord Vinayaka, the beloved son of Mother Gauri, who resides in the hearts of His devotees, one should meditate upon Him daily for long life, prosperity, and the fulfillment of all righteous desires.
prathamaṃ vakratuṇḍaṃ ca ekadantaṃ dvitīyakam | tṛtīyaṃ kṛṣṇapiṅgākṣaṃ gajavaktraṃ caturthakam || २ ||
Word-by-Word Meaning (English):First is Vakratunda (curved trunk), second is Ekadanta (single tusk), third is Krishna-Pingaksha (dark and yellowish eyes), and fourth is Gajavaktra (elephant-faced).
lambodaraṃ pañcamaṃ ca ṣaṣṭhaṃ vikaṭameva ca | saptamaṃ vighnarājendraṃ dhūmravarṇaṃ tathāṣṭamam || ३ ||
Word-by-Word Meaning (English):Fifth is Lambodara (large belly), sixth is Vikata (formidable and immense), seventh is Vighnarajendra (lord over obstacles), and eighth is Dhumravarna (smoky-complexioned).
navamaṃ bhālacandraṃ ca daśamaṃ tu vināyakam | ekādaśaṃ gaṇapatiṃ dvādaśaṃ tu gajānanam || ४ ||
Word-by-Word Meaning (English):Ninth is Bhalachandra (crescent moon on the forehead), tenth is Vinayaka (supreme leader), eleventh is Ganapati (lord of the celestial hosts), and twelfth is Gajanana. Whoever recites these twelve sacred names at dawn, noon, and dusk faces no obstacles in any endeavor.
dvādaśaitāni nāmāni trisaṃdhya ya: paṭhennara: | na ca vighnabhayaṃ tasya sarvāsiddhikaraṃ prabho || ५ ||
Word-by-Word Meaning (English):O Lord! A person who recites these twelve names of Lord Ganesha during the three Sandhyā periods of the day is freed from the fear of obstacles. These sacred names bestow success and fulfillment upon the devotee.
vidyārthī labhate vidyāṃ dhanārthī labhate dhanam | putrārthī labhate putrān mokṣārthī labhate gatim || ६ ||
Word-by-Word Meaning (English):One who seeks knowledge attains learning; one who seeks wealth obtains prosperity. One who desires children is blessed with children, and one who seeks liberation attains the path to Moksha.
japedvagaṇapatistotraṃ ṣaḍbhirmāsai: phalaṃ labhet | saṃvatsareṇa siddhiṃ ca labhate nātra saṃśaya: || ७ ||
Word-by-Word Meaning (English):One who regularly chants this Gaṇapati Stotra obtains its promised fruits within six months. By continuing the practice for a year, one attains spiritual accomplishment. There is no doubt about this.
aṣṭabhyo brāhmaṇebhyaśca likhitvāṃ ya: samarpayeta | tasya vidyā bhavetsarvā gaṇeśasya prasādata: || ८ || || iti śrīnāradapurāṇe saṃkaṣṭanāśanaṃ gaṇeśastotraṃ sampūrṇam ||
Word-by-Word Meaning (English):Whoever writes this sacred Stotra and offers it to eight Brahmins receives the blessings of Lord Ganesha. By His grace, such a person becomes endowed with complete knowledge and learning.

The seeker of knowledge attains wisdom; the seeker of prosperity attains wealth; the seeker of children is blessed with noble progeny; and the seeker of salvation attains spiritual liberation. All obstacles vanish within six months of sincere recitation.
Chant daily in the morning or especially on Wednesdays and Chaturthi tithis, offering fresh Durva grass, Modak/Laddus, and lighting a diya.
