Chapter 4 — Jnana Karma Sannyasa Yoga
jñānakarmasaṃnyāsayoga
The Supreme Lord unveils the eternal secret of His Divine Incarnations (Avatara) for protecting righteousness, the discernment between action, inaction, and forbidden action, and the purifying fire of divine knowledge.

yadā yadā hi dharmasya glānirbhavati bhārata | abhyutthānamadharmasya tadātmānaṃ sṛjāmyaham ||
Translation (English):Whenever and wherever there is a decline in righteousness (Dharma) and a predominance of unrighteousness (Adharma), at that time I manifest Myself on Earth.
paritrāṇāya sādhūnāṃ vināśāya ca duṣkṛtām | dharmasaṃsthāpanārthāya sambhavāmi yuge yuge ||
Translation (English):For the protection of the virtuous, for the annihilation of the wicked, and for re-establishing the eternal principles of righteousness, I appear age after age.
na hi jñānena sadṛśaṃ pavitramiha vidyate | tatsvayaṃ yogasaṃsiddhaḥ kālenātmani vindati ||
Translation (English):In this world, there is truly nothing as purifying as spiritual knowledge. One who becomes perfected in Yoga discovers this transcendent wisdom within their own heart in due course of time.
